Dear Friends:
As hinted at, the world of Daggers of the King promises to be more expansive than that of Son of the Borderlands, both in terms of geographic area and the expanding cast of characters.
Meet two more who will shape the fate of the Dragonlands and beyond.
Firstborn son of King Lothar Valcoran, I sought to temper his severe ways. Where my father ruled with iron and blood, I balanced justice with mercy, order with freedom. For twenty years I have borne the crown. I did not seek the Black Moon War, yet the Ancient Alliance bound Avicia to it. On that field, I faced defeat at the devious hands of High General Agni Kazirian. No arrow was fired, but he threatened our capital with nether magic. My father might have called the bluff, but I did not. No rival contests my crown, yet I weigh that choice still–and the enduring Solantian threat. It endures, but so do I.
I RULE.
My lords once promised to look after my family should I fall. I told them the truth: I have none. Only Avicia and the mission. I do not exist. I am a phantom, crossing borders without footprints, ending threats in their bedchambers, on commands never spoken above a whisper. Traitor, general, spy–show me the man, I will show you his doom. Like my blade, I am neither cruel nor kind–only intentional.
I STRIKE.
For the Borderlands,
Joe
